First lady and wife of the President of the Republic, Dame Patience Jonathan was yesterday appointed as a Permanent Secretary by the Bayelsa State Government.
The state broadcasting station, Radio Bayelsa, referring to a statement signed by the state’s head of service, Mrs. Gloria Izonfor, said Governor Seriake Dickson made the appointment on the strength of the constitutional powers conferred on him under Section 203, Sub-section 2C.
Dame Patience had worked in the Rivers State and later Bayelsa State Ministry of Education before her husband became deputy governor and later governor of the state.
Other permanent secretaries appointed alongside Dame Patience include J.E. Oye, Samson Ayibeboa, Antonia Koroye, Ziwari Billie, Buruboyefa John, Dikuro Ayebameh, Serge Williams, Olu Kuruom, G.I.Izein, Philomena Alodie, Omietimi Kojo, Ese Izonebi, Ohougha Maythias, James Clinton, Linnet Tebepah, Moses Teibowei, Dr. A. Sanayi and Vivian Odiwei.
